Why Choose CGR???
Local garage repair you can trust
At Colorado Garage Repair, we believe homeowners deserve honest advice, quality workmanship, fair pricing, and repair options that actually fit their needs. Thank you for taking the time to learn about who we are, why Colorado Garage Repair was started, and what makes a locally owned garage door company different.
Your garage door is the largest and heaviest moving system in your home. When it suddenly won't open or close, it can disrupt your entire day. In that moment, you need more than someone who can simply replace a part. You need a technician who takes the time to understand the problem, properly inspect the system, explain what happened, and recommend the right solution for your home—not the solution that produces the largest invoice.
That philosophy is the reason Colorado Garage Repair was founded.
Our Story
My name is Josh, and I'm the owner of Colorado Garage Repair.
Like many homeowners, I experienced the frustration of pressing the garage door opener button and having nothing happen. I called a local garage door company expecting an honest diagnosis and a straightforward repair.
Instead, the technician performed only a limited inspection and recommended replacing my existing system with an expensive conversion. The explanation was vague, the price was significant, and I was left with more questions than answers.
Hoping for some clarity, I contacted another garage door company for a second opinion. Unfortunately, I received another costly recommendation—this time involving even more repairs—but still no clear explanation of what had actually failed, why the additional work was necessary, or whether there were other options available.
I found myself in a position many homeowners face every day:
I didn't know who to trust.
Both companies offered essentially one path forward. Neither took the time to educate me, understand what I actually needed, or clearly explain the available repair options.
All I wanted was a garage door that worked safely and reliably again.
That experience made me realize there was room for a different kind of garage door company.
Building a Better Garage Door Company
Having spent my career working in skilled trades on elevators, escalators, cranes, and rail equipment, I was already familiar with complex mechanical systems, troubleshooting, safety procedures, and the importance of repairing equipment correctly.
I knew there had to be a better approach to garage door service.
I immersed myself in the garage door industry, studying every aspect of residential garage door systems—from torsion springs, cables, rollers, bearings, drums, hinges, and tracks to garage door openers, safety systems, and complete door installations.
I wanted to understand not only how garage doors fail, but why they fail, how components work together, and how to provide homeowners with repair options that make sense for their specific door, budget, and long-term needs.
That knowledge became the foundation of Colorado Garage Repair.
Why Being a Local Small Business Matters
Colorado Garage Repair was intentionally built as a local, independently owned garage door company.
We're not trying to operate hundreds of trucks across multiple states. We don't have layers of corporate management, large advertising departments, franchise fees, or the overhead that can come with operating a massive service organization.
Keeping our business focused and efficient allows us to control costs and offer competitive pricing without sacrificing the quality of the parts we install or the workmanship behind the repair.
Our customers aren't paying for a huge corporate structure.
They're paying for the service performed at their home.
Being a smaller local company also means every customer matters to us. Our reputation isn't built in a corporate office somewhere else in the country. It's built one garage door at a time throughout the communities we serve.
When you call Colorado Garage Repair, you're supporting a Colorado small business that depends on satisfied customers, referrals, repeat business, and a reputation for doing the job correctly.
No Sales Quotas. No Pressure.
One of the biggest differences in how Colorado Garage Repair operates is simple:
Our technicians aren't sent to your home with a sales quota.
There is no requirement to reach a certain average ticket, sell a certain number of upgrades, or turn every service call into the largest repair possible.
A service technician should be focused on diagnosing and repairing your garage door—not figuring out how much they can sell you.
That's why our approach begins with listening.
What problem are you experiencing?
What concerns do you have?
How old is the system?
Are you looking for the most economical repair, a longer-term solution, an upgrade, or simply an honest assessment of the door?
Those questions matter.
Sometimes the correct solution is replacing one failed component.
Sometimes several worn components should be addressed together.
Sometimes an older garage door or opener has reached the point where replacement makes more financial sense than continued repairs.
Our responsibility is to explain those options clearly so you can decide what makes sense for your home and your budget.
The Colorado Garage Repair Difference
Our mission is simple:
Provide honest recommendations, exceptional workmanship, fair pricing, and complete transparency.
Every repair appointment begins with an evaluation of your garage door system—not just the component that appears to have failed.
Garage doors operate as complete mechanical systems. Springs, cables, drums, rollers, bearings, tracks, hinges, and openers all work together. A broken spring may be the obvious problem, but understanding the overall condition of the system helps us identify why something failed and whether anything else deserves your attention.
After the inspection, we'll explain what we found.
We'll tell you what needs immediate attention, what may become an issue in the future, and what is still functioning properly.
Most importantly, we'll explain your practical options.
We don't believe in replacing parts simply because they're old.
We don't believe every homeowner needs the most expensive repair.
And we don't believe a technician should decide how much money you're going to spend before understanding what you actually want.
Our role is to provide the information and professional recommendation.
The decision remains yours.
Fair Pricing Without the Big-Company Overhead
Quality garage door repair isn't about being the cheapest company in town. Proper repairs require experience, professional tools, quality parts, insurance, reliable service vehicles, and the knowledge to perform the work safely.
At the same time, homeowners shouldn't have to pay inflated prices simply to support unnecessary corporate overhead.
Because Colorado Garage Repair operates as a focused local business, we're able to keep our overhead lower and pass that efficiency along through straightforward, competitive pricing.
We believe the price of a repair should reflect the work being performed, the parts being installed, and the expertise required to complete the job correctly.
Not a sales quota.
Not a corporate revenue target.
Not an oversized organization you're being asked to support.
Just professional garage door service at a fair price.
Repair What Needs Repair
Our approach is straightforward:
Repair what needs repair. Explain what doesn't.
If your garage door needs a spring, we'll explain the spring options.
If a cable is damaged, we'll show you why.
If the opener can be repaired instead of replaced, we'll tell you.
If other components are worn but still serviceable, we'll explain their condition without pretending they need to be replaced immediately.
And when replacement truly is the smarter investment, we'll explain why and help you compare the available options.
We want our customers to understand exactly what they're paying for before approving any repair.
Service Built Around the Customer

Repair correctly.
Our goal isn't simply to get your garage door moving again today.

When you choose Colorado Garage Repair, you're choosing a locally owned Colorado small business built around skilled workmanship, reasonable overhead, fair pricing, honest recommendations, and respect for the homeowner.
